Career Development Services
Dr. Kozu offers services that address issues relevant to any stages of your career development via Career Testing/Assessment and Career Counseling & Coaching.
What is Career Testing & Assessment?
Assessment is critical in career interventions at all stages of your career. It is often done via interviews and/or testing and helps you gain self knowledge and awareness. For example, such information about you can help you understand your options, choose a career direction, and identify necessary preparations.
Assessments conducted in Career Counseling and Coaching often measure: interests, values, aptitudes, confidence, traits, interpersonal patterns and preferences. The choice of methods and contents depends on each individual's needs, goals, and budget.

Career Counseling vs. Coaching?
There is no agreement among professionals. However, certain things are clear. First of all, counseling psychologists have traditionally been the experts in the practice and research of career development. They provide services that are grounded in theories that have developed over several decades.
Second, career counselors and counseling psychologists tend to work with those at the early stages of career development, from exploration to entry.
To the contrary, the enterprise of coaching itself is rather new and its practitioners' backgrounds are diverse; not all career coaches have solid education and training in career development.
Dr. Kozu considers career coaching as a process in which a coach 1) helps set goals and the end results for specific work challenges the client is facing; 2) helps define steps toward them; 3) ensures the client reach the goals. She employs this process in all stages of career development.
In her career development services, Dr. Kozu combines the elements of both career counseling and coaching. They are all based on the psychological theories and practice of career development, organization, learning, group dynamics, to name a few.
